About sfAWIS

The San Francisco chapter of the Association for Women in Science (sfAWIS) was founded in August, 2003 to:
  • provide networking opportunities for women in science at all levels;
  • foster career development and advancement for women in science;
  • raise public awareness of the scientific and technological skills of women;
  • work with other scientific, educational, and women's organizations in developing national and community programs that meet the above goals; and
  • provide recognition for women scientists in order to advance the above goals.
