The range of options within industry for scientists is far greater than many realize. In fact, there are many hidden opportunities that represent a variety of appealing options for accomplished scientists. Dr Freedman will highlight findings from her newly released book, Career Opportunities in Biotechnology and Drug Development, based on over 200 interviews with industry professionals. She will cover a broad gamut of careers, ranging from venture capital to discovery research, and will discuss some of the findings from her research.
Toby Beth Freedman, PhD is an author and Founder/President of Synapsis Search. A scientist by training, she transitioned into business as a recruiter, writer, and entrepreneur. Her book Career Opportunities in Biotechnology and Drug Development was published in October 2007 by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, and provides a comprehensive overview of many careers in the life sciences industry. She recently started her own recruiting firm, Synapsis Search, which is focused on middle management R&D searches in the life sciences.
