Content Team

• Programs Coordinators
  Programs is a core committee that plans, organizes, and produces the public Chapter Meetings. As a Programs Coordinator, you will help select future programs, interact directly with speakers and venue sponsors, and gain practical experience organizing nonprofit events. Participants are often individuals with strong interests in networking with established professionals in our industry.

Communications Team

• Publicity Coordinators
  Effective publicity connects sfAWIS with the community of scientists in the Bay Area. Publicity Coordinators develop detailed knowledge of local and online communities and forums to post upcoming events and spread the word about sfAWIS to scientists in the Bay Area.
• Fundraising Coordinators
  Fundraising ensures that sfAWIS continues to attract the resources necessary to host high-quality programs. As a Fundraising Coordinator, you will make connections with myriad Bay Area bioscience companies by interacting with sales representatives, human resources professionals, and corporate giving representatives.
• Newsletter Editor and Contributors
  The sfAWIS Newsletter keeps members, corporate sponsors, and event attendees up-to-date on chapter activities and other common topics of interest. As Editor or Contributor, you will gain opportunities to engage event speakers in depth, build your writing, desktop publishing and editing skills, and make your perspective on sfAWIS-related topics heard.
• Web Editor and Contributors
  The sfAWIS website connects our chapter with the Bay Area community and beyond. As a webiste Editor or Contributor, you will interact with the sfAWIS community as well as other local chapters to identify and update website content. Brush up and expand your html and ftp skills in the process of maintaining and improving the sfAWIS web presence.

Community Team

• Membership Coordinators
  This core of sfAWIS is our membership base. As a Membership Coordinator, you will develop and maintain relationships with the national AWIS organization as well as the diverse community of current and prospective AWIS members.
• Volunteer Coordinators
  The Volunteer Coordinator matches dedicated sfAWIS participants with appropriate volunteer opportunities. Consolidate and spread the word about the diverse opportunities at sfAWIS, and get to know the wonderful individuals who keep sfAWIS strong.
• Chapter Collaborations Representative
  Chapter Collaborations is a standing cross-chapter committee connecting sfAWIS to the national organization and other chapters nationwide. As the Chapter Collaborations Representative, you will build relationships with AWIS chapters around the county.
